Thirsty for a new MMORPG, my sister and I just started playing a new one released over a week ago. Swords of Legends Online is an action MMORPG based on Chinese mythology. Human is the only race but you can play as 6 different classes. I was pretty pleased with the customization of my character and thought the graphics were really nice.

The game features a housing system, pets, land and flying mounts, cooking, fishing, and more. I love the flying aspect of the game. (Anyone remember FLYFF?) It’s nice to be able to fly over large areas of land for quicker travel.

The game is new to the Western market so there are a few hiccups. Some cut scenes still have the Chinese voiceovers instead of the English. (I actually enjoy them.) And although I don’t have the issue, some players have complained about server issues when full, (like rubber banding, ping issues, and lag). For this game being brand new, I don’t really have anything negative to say about it other than it took me awhile to figure out how to travel. This could be user error because I skip a lot of cutscenes and tutorials. (ha)

Bird head.

Swords of Legends online can be purchased through Steam for $40. There are micro transactions for items such as fancy mounts, cosmetics, and apparel. (You are able to get ground/flying mounts and pets through quests as well.) They always know how to get me…I mean, who doesn’t want a bird on their head? If $40 is at little steep, you could always hold out for a steam sale. With a lack of MMORPGs lately, I felt that the price was worth the fun we’ve been having.

If you enjoy MMOs like Archage, Aion, and Black Desert, give SOLO a try!

Get it now on STEAM!
